The trio of shells include sea glass, a tiny cone shell finished with a super-tiny puka shell at the base, and adorable baby cowrie 1/2 (with the teeth intact and open on the shell side for interesting view)! The variety of colors are so sweet, and this is a great display of what mother Maui's ocean is filled with! All shells found by me, or my best friend! This chain is 18K gold-plated stainless steel embellished with tiny white enamel beads finished with a 14K Gold-filled Spring clasp and 14K Gold-filled 1" extension. Sea glass is weathered pieces of the anthropogenic glass (now that's a SAT word!) fragments from drinkware's, bottles and tableware, or even shipwrecks! What is a cowry= Various sizes and over 200 varieties of sea snails that live-in tropical waters, especially in Pacific waters! They have a glossy, colorful, oval shaped shell that are smooth and lightweight, with a toothed opening on the other side. Unlike most shells, cowries are built from the outside in, which makes the surface smooth! They symbolize fertility, wealth, prosperity and protection. What is a cone shell? = Marine snail with about 800 different species ranging from 1.3cm to 21.6 cm! They are cone shaped, very colorful with detailed patterns, and mostly in tropical waters.
