Made by hand. Made with aloha.
A small studio rooted in the spirit of Lahaina — where the mountains meet the sea, and every shell tells a story.
The Maker Behind the Work
Lahaina Girl was founded in 2023 in Lahaina, Maui, by me - Jill. My journey has been perfect, even with all the heartaches, because of the lessons learned, teaching me true resilience in this life, and to lean on others and God for love and support. I'm the "half-full" girl and have been my whole life. I have an amazing husband, 3 grown boys (I am a proud BOY mum), and loyal friends for 50 years. Girlfriends are everything. In my past professional life, I was an RN Manager for a variety of hospital departments. Loved being an RN, loved my co-workers and staff. But working as a manager through COVID burned me out… completely. I was unhealthy, depressed, and barely surviving. It forced me to look at my life and ask myself — what? why? where? who? Lahaina has always been the end goal. We have visited here many times and almost moved here in 1988, but chickened out. We even did the Maui Marathon in 2002… one and done! We found a house, bought it unseen, and sold our house — all within one week. Crazy, right? Yep. Retired early… Yay! Sometimes you just have to do that in this life of ours — live your life. I started recovering from life through beach time and began to find shells. Or they found me. It has captivated me in a way I have not experienced before, and I am in my own little world when finding them. Being in the ocean, finding beautiful ocean treasures is better than anything, ever. It's called MANA. I started to make jewelry, which is crazy since I am NOT a craft girl! I was ready to launch the jewelry line and had a meeting with a local entrepreneur to plan my first pop-up — on the day of the fire. Yes. August 8, 2023. Every physical lifetime memory gone in a matter of minutes. We barely escaped with our beloved animals and a few necessities. So thankful. Again. Half-full. We moved to the North Shore of Oahu for one year to recover, replenish our souls, and figure out our life. Not an easy task. Processing something like this is just uncharted for all of us involved. It is hard. I decided to re-launch "Lahaina Girl" 2.0, and it has taken the last two years to find my footing again. I find ALL my shells, so I had to start from scratch. I look at those treasures with deep appreciation, as they have helped fill up my soul again. So we are here now! Excited to share my special creations, made with positive Mana and Aloha. My hope is that you feel what I feel when you wear my jewelry. Mana 🐚😊 xo

On the Shells
Every shell used in our jewelry is ethically collected — gathered from beaches where the tide has already done its work, or sourced from trusted suppliers who share our values. We never collect from living reefs or disturb ocean habitats. The ocean gives, and we give back by protecting it.
Because we work with natural materials, no two pieces are exactly alike. Each shell is unique — different in color, texture, and markings. That's not a flaw. That's the whole point.
About Lahaina
Lahaina is a town with a long memory. It was once the royal capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom, then a bustling whaling port, then a beloved community shaped by generations of families from around the Pacific. We are proud to make our home here, and to carry a little piece of its spirit in everything we create.
