I think I Love you Puka ˈpo͞okə
Puka [ˈpo͞okə]
Puka [ˈpo͞okə] means "hole" in Hawaiian.
These are my absolute favorite shell of all time. They radiate Mana, providing such beauty that results when they typically fall off another shell...The cone shell. Puka shells are worn down pieces of a cone shell spire, which is the part that contains all the whorls (think of a whorl as the swirl or spiral growth of the shell). A naturally occurring hole forms in the center of these weathered shells, hence the name puka shell!
They come in all sizes, colors and textures making them amazing to create jewelry.
When I find them, they are 90% not in the condition you see. I sort them, trim them, drill the hole to the size needed, sand them if needed, and use mineral oil to shine them. Sometimes bleach is needed to clean them, and as a last resort acid if they have been in the ocean for a long time.
My wish is for you to feel the mana that I feel when I find them and create beautiful jewelry with them.
I never take mine off
